A little bit more about me.

I’m Steph Frick and if I’m not travelling around Australia, you’ll find me wielding the microphone as an event MC, producing and presenting video content, or sipping oat lattes around my hometown, Adelaide. I am a curious conversationalist with a genuine desire to connect with people, and with more than a decade of media production experience and a Journalism degree under my belt, I know that this is the key to authentically bring stories and events to life.

I’m currently writing this from inside our caravan, on a beautiful beach in WA (it’s also blowing a gale outside, in case you’re wondering why I’m not out there enjoying said beach). My partner and I have been touring Australia, co-hosting 4WD 24/7’s new series, Off Grid. We travel to some of the most remote and utterly stunning locations in Australia, make our way across intense off-road tracks, find epic hidden campsites and showcase the magic of travelling off grid. If you ever needed a sign to quit your job and explore Australia, this is it. Also, if dreamy beaches, fresh water holes and enchanting forests tickles your pickle, take a peek at our Instagram travel page.

Prior to hitting the wide-open road, I lived in sunny Brisbane, immersed in the world of production. I produced and presented content for Network Ten’s Totally Wild, Scope, Shake Takes and Coding@Home. This involved a marvellous mix of script writing and producing commercial brand integrations, content for the Queensland Department of Education, UGC short form, narrative driven segments, interviews with all ages, and educational yet rambunctious C and G classified content. FUN was always at the forefront!

I spent many years working with Juiced TV, ‘the show made by the kids in hospital, for the kids in hospital,’ as Production Assistant to Series Producer and Acting Manager. This is where I really cut my teeth in production, learning to write and produce for kids of all ages and abilities, script corporate content, edit, record voice overs, organise events, and so much more (not to mention be teeming with all the warm and fuzzies from working at the most wholesome place in the world!)

Speaking of wholesome, I’ve also offered emotional support to patients and families at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, as the Hospital Foundation’s Family Liaison Manager. A slight change of industry, yes, but the underlying skills were the same: a desire to authentically connect with people, build trust and rapport and show a genuine curiosity. I also took my production hat with me into this role, as you’ll see on my presenting page.

Harnessing these experiences and skillsets, I’ve relished many opportunities to MC various events and facilitate live Q&A sessions along the way. This is a great passion of mine and I’d love to share it with you as the MC for your next event!

I’m now based back in Adelaide, but travel is clearly no boundary for me…

So when are we getting that oat latte?
